From Halifax to Mexico City, a new chapter in North American health innovation begins today.

Toronto, Canada:  May 8, 2026: HealthEMe, the Halifax-born digital health company that has always believed healthcare innovation knows no borders, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mexico’s Ministry of Economy, cementing one of the most exciting and consequential Canada–Mexico health partnerships in recent memory.

Witnessed at the highest levels of government by Marcelo Luis Ebrard Casaubon, Mexico’s Minister of Economy, and Dominic LeBlanc, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister Responsible for Canada–U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy, today’s signing is a declaration that HealthEMe is ready to help transform health systems at a continental scale.

The MoU was born out of the 2026 Mexico–Canada Trade Mission, a landmark initiative designed to position Canadian companies as top-tier strategic partners in one of the world’s most dynamic markets. Under the USMCA framework and the Mexico–Canada Economic Cooperation Plan 2026–2030, HealthEMe and the Ministry of Economy have committed to three powerful pillars of collaboration: advancing industrial resilience through the exchange of best practices in technological innovation and industrial policy to support competitive, future-ready health systems; fostering talent development through joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, and training programs that will cultivate the next generation of health technology leaders in both Canada and Mexico; and strengthening governance and institutional exchange by connecting public officials and innovators to share insights, challenge existing approaches, and collaboratively design the health systems of tomorrow.

The partnership is set to run for two years, but make no mistake, the ambition here is built for the long haul. As Ashwin Kutty, President of HealthEMe Inc., states, “This agreement is the result of a shared conviction that the most meaningful health solutions are built when different perspectives, different systems, and different nations come together. Mexico has extraordinary energy, talent, and vision. Paired with HealthEMe’s expertise in digital health technology, this partnership has the potential to create real, lasting change for patients and communities across North America. We are incredibly proud of what today represents, and even more excited about what comes next.”

Faten Alshazly, Chief Executive Officer of HealthEMe Inc., shared,HealthEMe was founded on the belief that healthcare must be human, that innovation only matters if it reaches the people who need it most. Today’s signing is proof that when you lead with purpose, extraordinary things happen. Partnering with Mexico’s Ministry of Economy is not just a milestone for HealthEMe; it is a statement about what Canadian health technology can achieve on the world stage. We are ready, we are proud, and we cannot wait to get to work.”
